PHONE LINK
If you can’t make it to the recording session or you are out of town but you need to ‘listen in’ and direct the voice, a Phone Link or Patch (using normal phone lines), is a great option.
You can direct the voice artist directly from your home or office.
All you have to do is to call TSD at the previously agreed time. That's it.
At TSD, the same technology used by radio stations allows the phone line to be connected directly into the console. Understand, however, that the phone line audio is never a part of the actual recording; the phone is simply your 'intercom' to and from the studio, unless of course we’re recording a phone interview.
Everyone in the studio is able to hear you, and you can hear everything going on in the studio. Even as the recording takes place, you may interact normally with the voice artist, giving any direction that you desire.
At the end of the session, just hang up the phone. At TSD, the audio is edited and mastered, then sent to you via e-mail attachment, FTP transfer, or uploaded to your preferred studio for editing.
It's easy to see why so many producers and directors are choosing phone patch recording as a convenient way to 'visit the studio' using considerably less time and energy.
